Fee & Insurance Information

My fee per 45-50 minute session is $240. The intake appointment is charged at the same rate as subsequent individual psychotherapy appointments.

I am out-of-network (OON) with all commercial insurance providers. However, I can provide clients with a monthly document (a "superbill") that they can submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. Clients may also use HSA/FSA benefits to pay for services.

If you want to use your insurance to cover the costs of therapy, I recommend calling your insurance provider and asking about out-of-network mental health coverage. It may be helpful to ask them about reimbursement for billing codes 90791 (initial appointment) and 90834 or 90837 (subsequent appointments), and to clarify coverage for virtual/telehealth services.

As an OON provider, I am better able to safeguard your privacy and the quality of treatment from insurance companies. I also advocate for healthcare workers’ rights, including reasonable reimbursement rates, reasonable reimbursement timelines, and protection from clawbacks (insurance companies’ recoupment of funds for services already provided).

Sliding Scale Rates

I am able to offer a limited number of reduced fee appointments for full-time students and for adults undergoing extreme financial hardship. I work individually with each client to determine an appropriate “pay what you can” fee for services, taking into account factors such as insurance information, ability to receive financial support from other sources (e.g., family members), and changes in financial status that may occur after we begin services.
